The NLP Diploma

This is an academic overview of the Lifeworks NLP Diploma Course which is based on delivering a practical foundation to Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

It is a 4-day journey of self-discovery and is designed to open new doors to the interaction and communication with yourself and others and as a result create greater influence and success in business and personal relationships.

Training Structure

  • This training meets the certification requirements of the Association for NLP (www.anlp.org).
  • The training is run over 4 days and includes exercises, recommended reading and follow-on study.
  • An internationally recognized diploma certificate is awarded on successful completion of the course.

Training Outcomes

This Diploma training delivers the following important outcomes:

  1. An understanding of key NLP principles providing a solid base for progression to Practitioner Certification.
  2. A practical understanding of “the power of the mind” demonstrating that everyone has the ability to psychologically grow and positively change in both their personal and professional lives.
  3. The opportunity for attendees to relate their new knowledge of NLP to their specific needs and objectives, and to use a number of NLP techniques to improve personal and professional challenges on an on-going basis.

The Course Curriculum

1. The History of Neuro-Linguistic Programming:
    - How it all began and where we are now.
2. The Conscious and Unconscious Mind:
    - An introduction to the workings of the mind and how we store, use and recall our values, beliefs, experiences and habits … and how we can change them.
3. The Operating Principles of NLP:
    - This is about knowing what you want to achieve, having the sensory skills to know if you are on the right road and the             behavioral flexibility to do things differently if corrections are needed.
4. The NLP Communication Model:
    - This model introduces the different ways people perceive, interpret and react to events occurring around them.
5. The Presuppositions of NLP:
    - In this section we look at the “frames of thinking” that support achieving success and compare these frames with many common ways of thinking that do the opposite.
6. The Feedback Model:
    - This introduces how to give and receive feedback positively to friends, partners and work colleagues so as to maximize           the benefit to be gained from the comments and observations of others.
7. Goals and Well-Formed Outcomes:
    - A prime reason to use NLP is to achieve more of what you want. Well Formed Outcomes define and position your goals             in ways that both your conscious and unconscious minds find desirable.
8. Representational Systems:
     - Here we look at the relative importance of whether someone processes information as feelings or images or sounds or more ... and why this is important for creating impactful communication.
9. Anchoring:
    - In this section we look at how certain external stimuli create unconscious internal reactions. We look at how these                   already exist in everyone´s lives and how to harness this natural phenomenon for positive outcomes.
10. Logical Levels of Change:
     - This introduces the natural hierarchies linked within our thinking and the implications for achieving success.
11. Sensory Acuity:
     - This fascinating area of NLP is where the “mind-body” connection comes into play. Sensory Acuity is about being aware of the subtle changes in someone else´s physiology that give away their inner thinking. Very powerful in relationships and negotiations.
 12. Rapport:
      - Improving how you align with others to create improved communication.
13. Modalities and Sub-modalities:
      - This looks in more detail at how people think, store and retrieve information from memories and imagination and                     highlights why these are important in communicating with individuals and groups.
14. Perceptual Positions and Framing:
     - This subject is about useful changes to perspectives on situations or problems and how seeing them in another way can uncover hidden solutions. Also used to pre-empt and overcome anticipated barriers in challenging situations such a      negotiation.
15. Language:
      - In this section we uncover some of the powerful language patterns contained in the “NLP Meta Model” that give the                 ability to get to the core of a subject so as to influence others and converse for better outcomes.
16. Metaprograms
      - In this final section we look at Metaprograms and how they influence our personality preferences and act as                               achievement motivators.

Measuring Success

An NLP Diploma Certificate is awarded after successful completion of the course and qualifies for membership of the ANLP.

Success in this course is achieved by demonstrating achievement in three areas:

  1. That key points of the knowledge delivered are understood
  2. That competence is shown in terms of behavior management and demonstrated in doing the exercises
  3. That a positive, creative and inquisitive attitude is demonstrated.
